ISSUES

WITH LISTENING COMES UNDERSTANDING, AND WITH UNDERSTANDING COMES RESPECT OF ONE ANOTHER’S DIFFERENCES, UNIQUENESS AND INDIVIDUALISM

Life * Liberty * Pursuit of Happiness can truly be achieved when we put government back where it belongs and not infringing on the inalienable rights of the people of our constitutional republic.

MY COMMITMENT TO YOU

I think many of us have come to a place of mistrust and have seen where money, power and personal/professional gain have become more important in our world and within our elected officials. If you partner with me and allow me to be your voice for Bedford, I am standing in agreement with you that your vote is a vote of confidence and trust, and I will promise you that I will take my oath of office very seriously, with your input always at the forefront of every vote I cast.

Protect and Defend Constitutional Rights

In preparing for this next assignment in my life, I have taken numerous constitutional based classes and programs (both state and federal) and have researched additional writings and documents that I believe have provided me with a better understanding of the true intent behind these documents. I will review each piece of legislation that I am asked to vote on and ensure that there is no potential for constitutional issues in the language as well ensure that the legislation promotes transparency, enforceability, as well as accountability and responsibility when violated

Health Care Choice Freedom

Complete freedom to choose the type of health and wellness options, opportunities, and schedules that best met the needs for the individual and the family.

I will work to ensure that NH’s tax-funded programs will be required to provide complete and accurate information/statistics as to where your tax dollars are being spent, and that failure to do so will result in loss of funding streams. Currently there are 46 states that willingly provide this information, but NH is not one of them.

Mandating folks into health care should never be allowed in a state where the motto is Live Free or Die; Death Is Not the Worst of Evils. In Concord I would be a strong voice for individual choice, but would require that full and robust education/information, be provided and that documentation of this process is provided and are subject to independent audits, so that the best long term health outcome can be achieved for each individual.

Parents Rights and School Choice for ALL

Parents should never be looked at as the problem, but as an opportunity for the school staff to work cooperatively with them to ensure best outcomes on a case by case basis.

I believe that the child and their family need to be at the center of any educationally based plan to ensure the best outcome for the individual child.

No public or private company/agency should be rewarded for failure year after year, and the best way to resolve this is for healthy competition.

Balance Government Spending

I believe that we should not be taxing people out of their homes, but that increasing taxes would weaken the NH advantage. Instead I would look at each piece of legislation that comes with an expense and evaluate not only the short and long term cost/effects, but also look at potential natural consequences it would place on Bedford if it were to become law.

Election Integrity and Transparency

Current election law policy and procedures have done very little in restoring confidence for many NH voters that the process is free and fair and not fraught with fraud and abuse. NH has tried to do a better job in the last few years in the area of transparency, however unless/until clear violations of this process is enforceable and those who perpetuate fraud and abuse have clear and meaningful consequences for this behavior there is nothing acting as a deterrent to bad behavior.

Protect and Enhance Services for Veterans, Elders, and Children

Enhanced services does NOT need to require more spending, it means putting our veterans, our elders and our children back into the center of our communities and allow them each to find where they can best help grow and be a contributing member to our community.

  • Our veterans willingly signed a contract that they would sacrifice their lives for this country and our freedom.
  • Our elders are our history, and every single one of them contributed to the wonderful community that exists for us today.
  • Our children are the future, and we need to find better, more effective ways to allow them to blossom into the best each of them can be for the future of our community and our state.

Immigration

Immigration is only a bad thing when those who chose to do it, do it illegally. I would work hard with folks to work on creating a better pathway for legal citizenship. Each case of an individual being in our state needs to be looked at from the point of the individual and without prejudice, while understanding that there are consequences for them making the choice to violate our laws.

Drug Epidemic

More and more people are becoming dependent on mind altering substances that allow them to “cope” more effectively (in their mind) with the current situation that they find themselves in. When providing tax payer dollars we should require some accountability as to what the funds are being used for, as well as natural consequences for poor performance outcomes.

Housing/Homelessness

First-time home owners are looking at typically a mortgage on a half million dollar home. This will continue to be out of reach for most of our young people and growing families. The average cost of a studio apt is close to $2,000 monthly and I believe that this will only change when we begin to change the atmosphere of people over profit that has come to rule in so many areas of our lives.

The homelessness crisis that we are experiencing I believe is a symptom and not the disease. When we look into why we have so many who are homeless it becomes clear that at times it is the greed from the developers and landlords, but in many instances the real issue is an underlying mental illness that has created/caused the homelessness and we need to find ways to work with the private/public agencies so that they outcomes begin to better align with their funding requests.
